Pediatric Hospitalist Care
The hospitalists at North Central Baptist Hospital are board-certified to provide inpatient medical care for children under the age of 18. Hospitalists are physicians who specialize in treating hospitalized patients in the inpatient setting.
Working only with kids, they focus time and energy on the management of complex hospital care and facilitate specialty care as needed. This kind of coordination with pediatric subspecialists allows for better medication management, pain control, fluid management, diet and ultimately a higher quality of care for your child.
At the Baptist Regional Children’s Center at North Central Baptist Hospital, pediatric hospitalists work in conjunction with Emergency Departments throughout Baptist Health System and physicians in the community to expedite the transfer and admission of pediatric patients requiring inpatient care. Continuity of care for your child is ensured through ongoing communication with his or her primary care physician.
Pediatric hospitalists at North Central also provide Newborn Services, caring for babies from birth until they are taken home, including circumcisions. Every step is taken to ensure that you as parents gain the education you need to feel comfortable caring for your little one and following up with your referring physician for ongoing care.
